Start Me Up! Yet one more totally useless component added to the already impressive list! The StartMeUp Component is a Non-Visual Native Delphi VCL Component whose only task it is to sound the beginning of the song "Start Me Up" by the Rolling Stones. The peculiarity is that the sound is converted from a Wave file into a resource, which is included in the .EXE. No more need for external Wave files, just distribute the .EXE with this great sound.. Why this component? Well I was ill for a few days and was staying home doing close to nothing. I decided to have a quick peek at component building and this was the result. Not very impressive, though unique in it's kind.. The TStartMeUp Component has just one method: Execute; The TStartMeUp Component also has a Component Editor. Just right click on the Component. To install the component on the palette, select Options|Install Components, select Add and browse to STARTMUP.PAS or DCU, select Ok twice and the Component Library should be rebuild. StartMeUp should now be available on the "Samples" page (it really is a sample). This component is hereby donated to the public domain, use it at your own risk. I also included STARTMUP.BMP if you want to use the Logo as a glyph in a SpeedButton or whatever (I was quite proud of the fact that I could somehow make it clear that it is a tongue sticking out..). Have fun with it! Pepijn Smits. CompuServe 74750,733
